Kirk Filming Placeholders Today!

Kirk is filming his temporary inserts today making commentary on his travels, discoveries and interviews throughout the film. We've hired Darren Doane, a filmmaker in his own right, to film and edit the remaining portions of Monumental. The target completion date is set for early October. Then the marketing push begins. We will need friends like you to help us get the word out as we near the release date in 2012. So, please keep following us and tell your friends! Thanks!!

Update

We are excited about the progress we're making with editing. The film is scheduled to be finished in October. We are working hard on the marketing and distribution plans. As of now, the plan is to release the movie in the new year. This will give us some time to get the word out. We hope that you will continue to help us with that effort!! Thank you for your support!

Update!

Quick update on where we are in the progression of the film's production. We are in post production re-cutting some of the interviews and adding some of the visual elements. We are constantly attempting to make the film better by tweaking the story flow. In fact, we had a bit of a rewrite to the story outline over the past several weeks. This is typical of documentary production when new discoveries are made within the interviews that can improve how we are communicating our message. We also want to acknowledge how very patient you have been in waiting for the teaser/trailer, thank you. We hope to show you something real soon!

Movie Trailer Coming Soon!

Things are really starting to get exciting around here, behind the scenes! We have a third pass on the rough cut of the film and will begin start working on the design elements soon. We have been speaking with several design companies as we are fleshing out the direction we want to go with the look and feel of the marketing campaign. We have also been speaking with marketing companies and soon we'll begin to get the word out about the movie on a broader scale. Things will begin to move quickly for us over the next month or two.

More importantly, we just want to take a moment to say, Thank you!, to all of you who have been following us throughout the past several months. With the next two weeks, we will have our first trailer of the film finished and will upload for eveyone to see. So, you'll want to start letting your friends know to come visit our website to watch for it. Speaking of monumentalmovie.com, the website will also be getting a facelift as soon as we have a clear direction for the art design. Stay tuned, much more to come as we look forward to releasing Monumental in November!

Post Production Update

Kevin has sorted thru the mountains of interviews & b-roll we acquired. We now have to trim our 3 hour rough film down to 90 minutes! The most difficult part of the process is trying to figure out what to cut out. It's gonna be painful. So much good information!

Quote from George Washington's First Inaugural Address

"The foundation of our national policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality; ...the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained..."

~ George Washington, First Inaugural, April 30, 1789

Yesterday's American Minute

He produced epic films in Hollywood for almost five decades and
started Paramount Pictures.

His name was Cecil B. DeMille and he died JANUARY 21, 1959.

His best-known films include: Samson and Delilah, The Ten
Commandments and The Greatest Show on Earth, for which he won an
Academy Award.

At the opening of The Ten Commandments, 1956, Cecil B. DeMille
stated:

"Man has made 32 million laws since the Commandments were handed down
to Moses on Mount Sinai...but he has never improved on God's law...

They are the charter and guide of human liberty, for there can be no
liberty without the law."

President Harry S Truman stated in his address to the Attorney
General's Conference, February 1950:

"The fundamental basis of this nation's laws was given to Moses on
the Mount.

The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings
we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don't
think we emphasize that enough these days."

Truman concluded:

"If we don't have a proper fundamental moral background, we will
finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe
in rights for anybody except for the State."
